TEENAGER TALKS

A Complete and Detailed List of What Bugs Us

Hey, it’s been a while since I’ve posted anything, and for that, I am truly sorry.

But, I am back. In my figurative hand, I hold a complete list of what annoys teenagers the most, ranging from… well, you’ll find out.

~~

  1. “K”

I don’t really know if this is an appropriate place to start, but it doesn’t matter, let’s begin.

Imagine yourself in a scenario where you just took the trouble t type out a mile-long message, and you receive a reply in about 30 minutes after having sent it.

The message says “K”.

You just typed an essay on a phone, correcting every spelling error, and if the tense was incorrect, re-typing the entire thing. And you get a one-word answer as your reply.

You don’t know if the person on the other end is trying to say “Potassium” or “Okay.”

So please, be clearer. Type “okay.”

It’ll make the world a better place.

  1. Didn’t do it… big brother did it.

The second issue covers tattletales, and siblings who are tattletales and big fibbers.

It was the younger brother’s fault. You know it was the younger brother’s fault.

But, you have to be the more mature person and take the high road, ignoring his antics.

If you don’t, you get scolded.

  1. There is a time and place for everything.

This is a quote from my parents that has haunted my childhood.

I’d ask, “Can I have the packet of chips now, Ma?”

And I’d get a reply. A very simple reply.

“No.”

“But why?” I’d whine.

“Because, there is a time and a place for everything.”

And you really can’t argue, because Ma knows best, Ma is right, and Ma can win staring competitions easily.

  1. Because I said so

Parents have this crazy veto power thing that shuts every child up, and makes them listen.

In the next scenario,

“Ma, can I watch TV?”

“NO.”

“Why not?”

“Because I said so.”

And for some reason, families aren’t democracies; they’re dictatorships.

And the dictator has made sure that citizens’ right to speak is taken away.

~~

I haven’t covered every part of what bugs us, and maybe there will be a sequel. Any additions you’d like to make, please do comment, and I’ll see what I can do.

But do remember this.

Our parents were like us too, long ago.

They experienced most of the things we are experiencing now, especially the several death stares from their parents.

So, avenge yourself later on.

Live long enough to be a problem to your kids.

  1. Hey! Seems like you’ve finally come out with something! But after reading the first few lines I expected it to be a really long list! Will there be a Part 2 coming out?
